NW Wales Satellite at Deganwy – great results for NEW players.

In the girls U11 singles final Amy Jukes (Castell Alun) had a comfortable victory over Anne-Louise Barron 15-5, 15-6. In the Boys singles Flint had three in the semis. Aaron Smith lost 10-21 to Wrexham's Dhruv Bansal, and Jamie Noble beat David McCracken 21-11. Noble played well in the final but just lost to Bansal 11-15, 12-15. Smith and McCracken beat Noble and Oliver Howarth (Northop) 21-16 in the doubles final.

In the U13 Girl's singles semis Tonicha Font (Mold) beat Jukes 21-6, Bethan Sudder (Mold) beat Cerys Brackenbury (Buckley) 21-10. Sudder then played very steadily to win the final 15-4, 12-15, 15-4. Font and Sudder won the doubles final 21-12 against Erin Bailey (Llanferres) and Emma Paton (Flint).

There was a huge entry (20) in the Boys singles but NEW players only reached the semis. David Parker (Mold) lost to Dean Raymond (Great Orme) 15-21 and Will Larter (Prestatyn) lost to the eventual winner Cheshire's Rory Tremayne 3-21. In the doubles semis Declan Bonar and Nick Prtak (Llanferres) lost to the eventual winners Tremayne and Raymond 11-21 and Buckley's Callum Sant and Iwan Pullen had a great win over Palmer and Jack Griffiths (Mold) 21-17 before losing the final 9-15, 11-15.

In the U15 Girls singles final Sophie Wilson (Prestatyn) won a titanic struggle against Deeside's Beth McLellan by the narrowest of margins 30-29.

The Boys singles had 20 entries. In the quarters Paul Hardman (Mold) lost 14-21 to Ben Griffith (Llanrwst), Arjunan Ranjit (Prestatyn) lost to Saksham Bansal 8-21, Flint's Daniel Ellis beat Ananth Ranjit 21-6, Scott Oates (Deeside) had a great win over Mold's Lloyd Martin 21-19.

Ellis then beat Oates 21-12 in the semi and Bansal in the final 15-5, 15-12, playing a very aggressive game, making few errors.

In the semis of the doubles Hugo Williams (Prestatyn) and Liam McGivern (Wrexham) had a very narrow victory over the Ranjit twins 25-23 but were then soundly beaten in the final 6-15, 8-15 by Ellis and Martin.

Alun Wilson Mold won his U17 singles semi 21-14 against Cheshire's Jack O'Reilly but then lost the final 12-15, 11-15 to Jack Ellis (Wrexham). Wilson and Simon Jones (Mold) continued their winning partnership to win the doubles final 21-10 against Wrexham's Matt Morris and Matt Wright.

The NEW U15 team in the English Shires league have lost their last two matches but the team cannot be faulted for effort and there have been some great individual performances.

Matthew Vacher had a very good match despite the team losing 2-18 to Leicestershire. He beat Alan Thompson in the top singles 21-17, 21-13 and then won the top mixed with Ellen Liddle 21-19, 16-21, 21-17 against Thompson and Helen Briggs. Liddle and Isobelle Cain just lost another very close match 15-21, 21-16, 14-21.

The team then lost to Derbyshire 4-16. The best results were wins for Elliot Wheeler in the third singles 12-21, 22-20, 21-13, then Wheeler and Hugo Williams 21-14, 21-19, Vacher and Daniel Ellis19-21, 21-14, 21-11 in the boys doubles and Liddle and Cain 21-18,22-20 in the girls doubles.
